It’s a Tuesday night. I’ve just eaten a bowl of poke and four sugar cookies. Unbroken is playing on our tv and I’m writing up this post wearing a face mask and cuddling with my fluffiest blanket. My new schedule only leaves me one day without any classes this term and it’s been a bit of a struggle feeling like I have to play catch up; on sleep, reading, work, laundry, and on eating good food. But it’s kind of OK because I got my fair share of all those things (well, except laundry) in last month!
April was good to me. I went to Iceland and Vegas. Mom came up to visit and we went to Universal Studios where I tried Butterbeer and fell in love with the world of Harry Potter all over again. There was a lot of eating, but quite little cooking. But I did buy a whole new stack of lovely cookbooks, and they are all page turners.
Layered – (congrats, Tessa!!!)
The Bob’s Burgers Burger book
While my mom was visiting, we had dinner at Otium – a restaurant in DTLA that I’ve mentioned here before. This time, I remembered to bring my camera so here’s a few snaps from our amazing meal! We had hamachi, foie gras funnel cake, amazing pasta, hamachi kama, and a lil matcha roll cake. Just, amazing.
It also must be strawberry season because I am obsessed with Strawberry Shortcake M&M’s and Tokyo Strawberry!!! Along with the Tokyo Strawberries, Steph brought a bazillion snacks to Iceland from Taiwan and Japan. She had a giant carry-on bag with taro crystal cakes, pocky, Garrett’s popcorn, popcorn chicken/hokkaido cheese/japanese bbq pea crackers, medjool dates (LOL), Nutella, mooncakes that spilled all over said giant carry-on… I can’t even remember the rest. SO MANY SNACKS. But they kind of saved our lives. If you missed my recap on Iceland, you can check it out here!
